So far so good.. I feel that i could have done better for some of the modules but well given the poor attendance plus the fact tat i am pretty slack as compared to last sem. I feel that i have done quite okay for the paper...
overall this sem is hell of a sem. Operation, IHG(though i dint play), Physio, Specialist Appt.. Blk issues, BGR issues, internship company halfway pangseh... Kinda lost my way halfway through the sem in which i dun feel like doing anything.

However i must say some of the things are actually blessing in disguise. like for my internship. If i got the one initially allocated to me, i wouldnt have got the one that i have now.. Ohh.. i dint mention that i got my intern with Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group Pte Ltd a few days ago. Good news cos the working place is near my Dad's workplace, pay is much better than my original one and that it offers much more interesting stuff to do than my previous one.. YESH!!

other things such as IHG losing out during the semis is a good lessons to all in Kr that we need to work much much harder and improve our standard to via for the trophy next yr.



Last paper of the sem... gotta pia already.. got tons of readings to read.


Anyway just wan to thank Qingyou and Darren for making the special photo/cert thing for me. touched sia.... and also Ken for passing me the "secret manual" for handball.. will put it to good use!. Will miss all of your presence in hall next sem.. all the best in your careers.! All employed le! =)

Reason?

I get 2.2 million buck per year! And no matter how good or bad the economy is doing, my salary is pegged with whoever is earning the most in private sector. SHiok! Therefore i hereby declare that i am embarking on a political journey =P

Best of all... I earn more than President George W. Bush =P

And of cos the most important reason is that i wan to serve the country and lead it to greater heights if you get wat i mean... ;)

ranting in the library.

Taking a break from my mugging in the library...

Library is a scary place! Almost ALL of the seats are taken up and it's dead quiet.. (except for the irritating group of pple talking right outside of the exit.. Talk SO LOUD FOR WAT!)

Also it is interesting to note all the funny characters in the library

This uncle who is seated a few seats away from me. Siyong and I have come up with many explanation why he is here. Damn hilarious~
Theory 1 : He's the parent of some student who is mugging in the library(prob ger). Being protective of his son/daughter and going to fetch him/her back after he/she is done with studying.
Theory 2 : He's super Zai professor who have a burning passion for teaching. He's here so that his students can approach him for consultation.
Theory 3: He's waiting for 1am so that he can open his stall and sell food to the students mugging in the library.


had a lot of fun talking about him. Whenever he leave the library we will come up with all sort of funny thing like, "oh he's going to start cooking le" haha

Received a call from Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group Pte Ltd with regards to my internship application. Apparently NUS is kind enough to inform the HR side that examination is just around the corner and propose to them to hold a Phone interview instead of a face to face interview.(yesh lar!)
From what i gather from the phone interview, the company specialises in the shipping of chemicals, or anything liquid. The profile of what i am going to do is strictly non CE related. However as NUS does not offer any related Majors, Civil engineering is the closest they managed to get. It seems like a really interesting internship. (much better than attachment to some stupid structural company who pangseh halfway. pui!) Was told that if i am willing to learn and time permits, i might be able to sail with the ship and the head engineers to learn handon from them doing actual work on the field. Shiok lar! I think it's damn cool lor! anyway nothing is being confirmed yet as they still need to pass my CV to the head office to decide and they will get back to me shortly with regards to the confirmation of my attachment to their company for internship. Really hope i can get it. for various reasons.

1. i wan to try out something new.

2. I wan to siam reservist. Paiseh Rat and Ape and Ah Gou( notice all of them have animal nick? i also dunno why). I cant go back this year as i am fighting fit yet. i still need to get back my fitness after my operation. I cant afford to go back this year as if i were to go back, i will need to report my injury which means that i will be downgraded. I want to have the option to access for myself whether my fitness still can make it or not.

3. I want to get modular credit and experience life as a civil engineer(okay if i get this one not exactly civil related) or at the bare minimum apply some of what i learned from NUS to my work. If i were to get a part time job( which i will confirm choose Sales side), i am not able to get the same experience.

4. I want to keep myself busy during the holidays. I dun wan to nua too much during holiday. Nua will equate to me having nothing to do and start to think about stupid things.

5. I want to force myself to work in a 9-5pm environment to convince me even more that i do not want to do a 9-5pm job. To further enhance my belief and convince myself even more that i had made a right choice in working in the financial and risk industry.





Therefore pple wish me luck that will get the intern!! =)

Been greatly disturbed by certain issues in hall... though i do not want to be involved in the politics and conspiracy, i was still caught into it....

Many "reasons" offered. Many bitching by many pple behind back. Even yr1 and yr2 s are bitching.

First time in my 3 years of staying have i encountered such sheer volume of politics and bitching. Y does hall stay have to transform into a courthouse?

Just some food for tot about leadership

A true leader is one who set by example and who puts others before himself.
If every leader like Capt John(prob Maj John by now... still managed to be 4th Coy OC recently? puis! ) who was in charge of our boat mission but was the first one to sit down and grab food after coming back from the boat mission; even taking extra helping for himself(one person one helping one lor... nabe cb) when some of his man is stranded in sea. He dint even bother to count the number of boats and ensure everybody comes back. Puis...

I strive to be like Captain Lien who treat his man as his blood brothers and comrades. Always willing to go all out to protect his men and to help them in their issues. Always set A high standard and a good example to his man and officers.

I cant say that i managed to be a damn zai leader. but i hope at the end of the day, i managed to inspire some of my "man" and forge Strong bonds. Essentially when all things are over, what important are the frens forged. Hopefully that i managed to set a good example for others to follow in my short term as handball captain.

Being a leader does not mean that you will be respected. You wan to be respected? Learn to respect pple first...

Check out the number of drinks we drank last friday...(good fri) 10 bottles of assorted beers, plus martell.. 4 of us finish all these!! hahz. fun!

Next sem in hall seems so different. Change in floor, change in style of management. Many of my good frens are leaving already, either due to graduation or cant stay... Super inflation of points this year. All the seniors that i looked up to all graduate le... hopefully i can get my room which is nearest to Yz and Ron if not sian diao. Shall miss my old room E603. Such a pity that i cant spend my last year in KR staying in tat room. It holds so many sweet and bitter memories... Though i am already resigned to changing my room le but still loathe the idea of leaving my room.


hmm... duno if Boss can "employ" me for internship during the holiday then give me the modular credit sia since i wan to go back office in the holidays anyway.. hahaz.
